Attorney James Christopher Dean
Founding Attorney of the Dean Law Firm

Chris was born and raised in Midland, and he takes great pride in his roots
in West Texas. He played football for Midland High School, and graduated
in the top 5% of his class. His father, Thurston E. Dean, M.D., practiced
orthopedics in Midland for nearly four decades, and was the term doctor
for Midland Lee and Midland High, the real doctor in the book and film
Friday Night Lights.
Chris was raised with the idea that we should always help those who need
help the most. His dad and four older brothers are all surgeons, and his
sister is an acclaimed physical therapist. It's a tradition in his
family and it's in his blood. Through times thick and thin, Chris
is there for his family and his family is there for him. That strong relationship
is what he hopes to achieve with his clients.
On opening his office in Midland, Chris said
“I am blessed that my practice of law extends to all regions of United
States. I am most proud that I can start an office in my hometown to serve
West Texans, just as my family has done since 1960. I look forward to
living up to my family name.”
Chris has always been focused on supporting his clients after serious
personal injuries and helping them through tough times, first and foremost. Whether he needs
to take their case to a jury court or to the conference room for settlement
agreements, Chris goes above and beyond to make sure his clients receive
the care they need. He treats his clients as if they were close friends
for years, taking the time necessary to really get to know them, and to
allow them to get to know him.
Familiarity is key both to fostering strong client-attorney relationships and many of Chris'
case successes.
The list of people Chris has helped continues to grow with every case he
takes. Chris has stepped in when insurance companies sought to save a
dollar instead of providing for their customers, and when honest workers
needed representation.
Some of his notable cases include:
- Helping a woman cope after her husband passed away in a terrible industrial accident
- Helping a family catastrophically injured by a negligent commercial trucker
- Helping a young daughter hurt due to medical malpractice
